First Snow fall in the Chamonix Valley

After weeks of beautiful summer heat the winter is finally upon Chamonix with two snow falls in just as many weeks. As most lifts are still closed the perfect way to enjoy the mountain and these first drops is with a pair of snow shoes. Charlie from the Haute Pursuit team did exactly this, firstly up the front face of Le tour and secondly across the classic Grand Balcon Nord footpath from the Aiguille du Midi mid station to the train station at Montenvers. Joined by his girlfriend Dawn they had a super fun day out, all fingers here are crossed for more of the white stuff soon...
