ALPINE SPORTING EVENT - STRIVE CHALLENGE
THRESHOLD SPORTS
In September 2019 we had the pleasure in working for Threshold Sports in the delivery of the latest Strive Challenge for Big Change, a charitable organisation formed in 2014 by the Branson family and others.
The physical challenge based event catered for everyone from novice to seasoned striver, with a route that offered alpine lake swimming, hiking, road cycling, climbing and paragliding. In the evenings the group stayed in some of the Alp's finest hotels, remote mountain refuges and glamping in breathtaking locations.
Although the event is physically challenging and the participants pushed their boundaries every day, there is still time allocated for them to kick back in the evening, eat amazing food and sample delicious local wines while having meaningful discussions.
Our role at Haute Pursuit was to work with the UK based event managament company, Threshold Sports, acting as their local agent on the ground using our book of contacts and local knowledge to help them deliver their requirements for the Strive Challenge. Highlights of what we were tasked with included:
Venue sourcing for the various elements of the challenge
Local supplier liasion, and regular reporting back to UK office
Group transportation requirements for the French side of the event
Glamping - sourcing site, tents, organising dinner, sourcing and confirming walking guides
